The artist has handed over the complete sum of his £25k Mercury Prize cash to the MVT, which operates to preserve the UK's grassroots concert spaces.
Fender was given the prize on mid-October as his new release his work was chosen as the outstanding release of the last 12 months.
Fender has chosen to donate the funds to the MVT, in appreciation of the crucial part local spots fulfilled in his early career.
"I personally would not have achieved what I am doing today if it hadn't been for all the gigs I played around the area, and beyond, when I was starting out," said Sam Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are struggling."
Beginning in 2023, more than 150 of these locations have permanently closed – roughly 16 percent of the entire UK sector.
In the last year, major artists including the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the trust in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by adding a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which goes to help smaller concert halls.
Fender also participated, generating more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous grassroots venues across Britain.
These funds supported venues that were facing possible closure due to challenges caused by floods, blazes and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, conflicts and neighbor objections.
Some locations were granted monetary aid in upgrading amenities and technical equipment that directly benefitted musicians and audiences.
"The concept that funds from performances in big venues backs the local stages, where it all starts for artists like me, is just sensible," the star has stated.
Fender is far from the only musician to donate his award winnings to charitable organizations.
Back when Pulp earned the prize in the year 1996 for their album their work, lead singer Cocker declared that the band would donate their prize money to the charity War Child.
In 2002, artist she divided her award among multiple good causes, like the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"Additionally, I gave a £1,000 to the center, to their gymnastics class, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they required new equipment," Ms Dynamite shared with a publication.
Previously, they donated their prize money to the youth organization that nurtured their band, as well as other grassroots music organisations.
Also 1994 winners M People contributed their winnings to a multiple sclerosis charity after a acquaintance was diagnosed the disease.
"The victory was sufficient," said singer Heather Small. "The prize was the cherry on top but we could do without the cherry, because we had the honor. So our victory impacted another person's life."
Last week, the trust shared it had rescued a couple of small stages in that region, by placing them under community ownership.
One venue in Southampton and the second in the city were acquired under the public acquisition scheme, which is backed by a national body and supporters who acquire "ownership units" in the properties.
